FICO Score

The most widely used credit scoring model, ranging from 300–850.

Five factors build it: payment history (35%), amounts owed (30%), length of history (15%), new credit (10%), and credit mix (10%). Payment history and utilization are the two levers that move it fastest.

Example: Paying down a maxed-out card from 90% to 20% utilization can raise a score 20–50+ points within a statement cycle.
